Quit Smoking Tips - Your Source Of Health |
To my mind, it's useless to explain why do you have to quit smoking.
Even "experienced" smokers know almost everything about the harm they
are causing to their body doing this. But surprisingly the number of
people with cigarettes in their mouth doesn't decrease. And many people
claim, that this addiction is uncurable, they can't stop. That's a
totally wrong position.
As far as I know, there are lots of different quit smoking methods
nowadays: laser quit smoking, herbal quit smoking, even quit smoking
hypnosis, etc. But the key point is that no quit smoking program will
help without your inner preparation. To start, decide positively that
you want to quit. Try to avoid negative thoughts about how difficult it
might be. Then list all reasons you want to quit. Every night before
going to bed, repeat one of those reasons 10 times.
Developing strong personal reasons in addition to your health and
obligations to others is a good idea too. For example, think of all the
time you waste taking cigarette breaks, rushing out to buy a pack,
hunting for a light, etc.
You certainly need to condition yourself physically. Start a
modest exercise program; drink more fluids; get plenty of rest; and
avoid fatigue.
Set a target date for quitting perhaps a special day such as your
birthday, your anniversary, or the Great Smoke Out Day. If you
smoke heavily at work, quit during your vacation so that you're already
committed to quitting when you return. Make the date sacred, and don't
let anything change it. This will make it easy for you to keep track of
the day you became a nonsmoker and to celebrate that date every year.
Pull yourself together and don't forget that it's all you who really
needs this.
